NSWNA Council has endorsed Branches taking stop work action to attend a rally in The Domain, Sydney from 11:30am on Thursday, 8th September.
The NSW Government has removed the rights of public sector workers fair pay and conditions. NSW public sector workers have the worst workplace laws in the country and the Government is threatening to sack thousands of NSW Public Sector Workers.
Capped wage rises are only the tip of the iceberg, not only are your conditions of employment under threat, the quality of public services are at risk. We need to tell the O’Farrell government that this is not good enough. NSW deserves better.
NSWNA General Secretary Brett Holmes urges all Branches and members to attend the rally and show the state government that we are serious about our rights at work and quality public services.

I will not be attending as I have to attend my rehab provider at that time. I am also dismayed at Bret Holmes urging members to bring their children to join the “fun”. There is no place for children at such a rally. Even if passions do not become inflamed, just the sheer volume of people makes it an unsafe environment for the kids.
