I gave up a pilot cadetship with Qantas for nursing (but then some pilots from the group did crash into a mountain a few years later and go up in a fireball, so the decision may have been fateful!).
I've saved more lives (which also technically means saving the lives of the family unit that would have otherwise been totally devastated)doing this job. Over 30 years since I started resuscitating people and about half a dozen actually thanking me.... I suppose that's pretty rewarding!
I was planning a job in Space Dynamics at the start of my career, and was to continue that through the pilot job - so I could create my anti-gravity device. Had I continued with that, the increasing number of 300kg patients would now be a lot lighter! Being a Leo, and liking the power over a group, lecturing has always been a forte, and I've used it through my career as NUM of ICUs, as has been the ability to write, so please could you all send $1 million each ( The Great Cockroach has requested it!) to me so i can retire and write you all a book!?? |

I would rather be almost anything other than a nurse. I have been known to envy people shovelling manure in the rain.

rich??? :P nah, I wouldn't do anything else, I LOVE being a nurse, although it has its moments occasionally like all jobs, such as sitting in front of a cardiac monitor writing notes, hearing it 'red alarm' looking up, seeing VT and then sprinting down the corridor!!! |

I was a veterinary nurse before i was EN and im 3 months off being a RN if i don't like being an RN i will go and be a Vet. But i will always stick to the medical profession in one form or another |
