Let us not confuse stem cells and donor persons. They are based into two sections of the law and ethics that do not agree on common grounds.

Donor of organs is an issue based on a persons right to believe in this clinical area and alive or dead your body is yours whilst you maintain 'capacity'; after this others can decide.

Some are too aged to donate organs however bodies are still required for teaching purposes in areas of medical grounds.

Make out Wills; A C D and instruct your GP + Sclr to see that what you wanted is undertaken.

You can as I understand it have wording included that any person or partied who obstruct this will be sued by your estate. Whilst little is written on this go seek it out I suggest

I want to be but my stupid family will probably dishonor my wishes. They don't believe in being `cut up' after death. I figure what good are your organs when you're dead.

I've cared for many children who have received kidney and liver cadaveric transplants. Most did really well and will spend quality time with their families now rather than not seeing their first birthday.

I will applaud the day that stem cells can be successfully used to grow new organs for a patient without risk of disease or rejection from a donor organ. Already the fact that some paraplegics have had stem cell transplants and have regained bladder control and even begun to walk again is indeed an incredible thing. I draw the line at cloning kitty or anyone else.Mother nature always bites back with a vengeance when humans try to play God.Wink

yes I'm an organ donor too; but I'm interested in the urban myth that gives us to believe that some people have taken on aspects of the donor, thoughts, idiosyncracies etc. Any body work in the are who can bust the myth?

I think organ donation is an excellent idea, I am definately an organ donor. You could save so many lives donating your organs to other people after your death and make people live a longer, healthier and happier life. People deserve a 2nd chance with their health if they can be helped Smile

In some places in Europe all people are recorded as organ donors unless they take themselves of the registration, this is the opposite to our system in which an individual has to nominate them selves, I think you would have more donors in the European system then with our, what do you think?

Yes -- both Hubby and I are organ donors as well. IF we're dead, we'd rather be able to help others live their lives through our help. But please, make sure we're really dead before our organs get harvested! :O
