Sad Sadly it happens,however in this case I do believe suspension is'way out of sinc'.And why just include males re this matter? There are stacks of gay female nurses and always will be!

But lets face reality here. QLD Govt and that State is 'anti-gay' and has been for a very long time. If this nurse was 'out and totally anti gays' I ast the question:- Why? Was or has he been rejected or abuse by a male person?

For and with each 'outbust'there is a rational reason, and for his Reg to be taken away what were the real facts of this hearing?
Maybe we will never know..mmm///

Exactly Patience we as Nurses should not let our own viewpoints or beliefs affect our care.I have quite often said to residents when asked about my personal beliefs that I dont believe in discussing them during work.,Big Smile

It's hard to determine what's right with regard to his suspension - it could be that there's more to it and he's had other warnings etc.
However, as to his very vocal and contraversial viewpoint (or mission from the sound of it) it's not really okay for a practicing nurse to espouse a cause that shows such discriminatory behaviour. His comments openly suggest that he judges his patients, shows a lack of respect for and an intolerance of people's diversity, beliefs and lifestyle. Nurses just can't do this and that's part of nursing philosophy - it has to be because all people deserve equal care no matter who they are.

Has anyone seen this article about a male nurse in Queensland who got his registration suspended because he open called for a 'world free of homosexuals'?
