My work place is wonderful because of the great staff who work there.As you will all be aware by now the Aged Care Sector is going through immense changes at the moment and we are all under a lot of pressure.What I like is that no matter what happens we all still support and understand each other.This is especially relevant to me because as the delegate for our facilitY sometimes I have to put my Union hat firmly on and support a co worker in the office etc.Big Smile

Bupa Willoughby, Bupa Roseville, Thompson Healthcare Mona Vale House, Turramurra house, and Sydney Adventist Hospital.
All these places are a beautiful environment to work in. If you pull your weight and work as a team then you feel as if you are working with family ( well that is in the aged care facilities) Bupa takes an interest in their staff, they are involved in your professional development and have a great philosophy when it comes to the residents and their employees. I have always loved my job and I have been in the same company for 10 years, I have never had a need to move on as the company has always taken care of me professonally.
There are some amazing places to work in, you need to be a team player and have a good attitude though, if your not then even the most amazing place in the world won't seem like it as you won't be part of the family.

The Jewish Aged Care Centre near Bondi Junction is very good.
R N S Private is also good.
Both have high standards and respect for all Pts and staff and will nor'skimp' on the level of service and Pt treatments.

I would like to hear from nurses about their work places that are good and what makes them good. I've rarely worked in good work places because of financial commitments and no self belief probably, but I would like to hear about decent places I hope there are some! Maybe if we learn to value good work places we might learn to create them more and not put up with so many bad places.
