Today, Tuesday September 17, is the first Global Day of Action organised by the Global Nurses United (GNU), which was formed by nurse and midwifery unions from 14 nations, including the NSWNMA, in June this year.
In Sydney, nurses and midwives made their presence felt outside NSW Parliament House in Macquarie St, not once but twice during the day! They later took to the water, boarding a Manly ferry to bring the Ratios put patient safety first campaign message to a global audience, against the stunning backdrop of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House.
