Intellectual and Developmental Disability Nursing Survey

Are you a Registered Nurse, Endorsed Enrolled Nurse or an Enrolled Nurse currently registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) whose role is primarily working with people with intellectual and developmental disability (IDD)? If so, you are invited to participate in this online survey about your work. Start the survey here.

The survey aims to gather detailed information about the skills, expertise and practice standards you use to enhance the care of people with IDD. We want to know what you do when caring for a person with an intellectual disability. The survey has 7 parts and will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. A combination of yes/no and short answer type questions are included.

The research is being conducted by Dr Nathan Wilson, Dr Peter Lewis, Dr Michele Wiese, Ms Kate O’Reilly and Dr James Collison (Western Sydney University, NSW), Professor Lisa Whitehead (Edith Cowan University, WA), Ms Virginia Howie (Central Queensland University, QLD), and research assistants from Western Sydney, Edith Cowan and Central Queensland Universities. The research is funded by the Professional Association of Nurses in Developmental Disability Australia (PANDDA) Inc.

Your contribution will help to conceptualise this unique role under the NDIS and into the future. The information will be used to inform and guide the development of new nursing PANDDA standards of practice.
