NSWNA Branches say ‘Yes’!!


Ninety percent of NSWNA branches in public health system workplaces have voted in favour of the improved staffing ratios and pay offer.

Voting closed on Monday February 21st, and now the Association will now take steps to have the Award formally made in the Industrial Relations Commission this week. This means that it will be legally enforceable.

Ratios will be progressively implemented starting March!

Recruitment now starts for the new nurses needed to start implementing the higher staffing levels.

The implementation steps are to be agreed between the Association and NSW Health, so now that you have approved the Award offer, Association officials will start urgently meeting with NSW Health to determine the implementation program.

The additional nurses will be delivered progressively between March this year and June 2013.

The Association will send members more detailed information about the commencement of ratios.

Backpay for everyone to last July.

All RN/RMs, ENs and AINs will receive the 2010 3.9% pay rise backdated. It will take some weeks for NSW Health to process the backpay but everyone will receive it, in a lump sum.

After this, the next 3% pay rise will start from your first full pay period that commences on or after 1st July, 2011. This pay rise is also for all RN/RMs, ENs and AINs.
