Nurse Uncut end-of-year contest 2015

To celebrate another great year on the Nurse Uncut blog and to thank you all for reading, commenting and in some cases writing for the blog in 2015, we have an incredibly easy contest.

To enter, simply tell us in the comments below – or in Comments on our Facebook page –  what the best thing about working on Christmas Day is for you.

[If you’re shy and don’t want to post online, simply send us an email to nurseuncut at with your name and address to enter.]

First prize is a $100 Coles/Myer gift card – sure to be handy at this time of year.

Second and third runners-up will receive a surprise pack of DVDs each.

This contest is open to Australian residents who are members of the NSWNMA. [We appreciate all our readers, in Australia and internationally, but the prizes – and the blog – come to you via the NSWNMA, so must go to members.]

And if you want to join the NSWNMA – remember, students and retired nurses get free membership – you can join online and then enter the contest as above.

While you’re at it, make sure you’re on our list to receive reminders of Nurse Uncut blog posts – you can sign up here. We promise not to inundate your inbox!

The contest closes at midnight EST Thursday December 17 and we will draw the winners the next day.

It’s easy to enter and you could have a lovely prize coming your way!

PS: We’re always looking for contributors to the blog – so if you’re a nurse or midwife (or student) with a tale to tell, get in touch at nurseuncut at

  1. The best thing about working on Christmas day this year is that I don’t have to. I have an office hours job, so I get to slave over a hot turkey all day instead of a pile of steaming POO.

  2. We used to have some great Christmas Days in our unit. They are not the same any more as the spirit has left us. All work no play seems to be the mantra of the public health system.
