We need to stop and reflect upon the unfolding tragedy in Queensland.
At last official count, there have been nine confirmed deaths, with around sixty people unaccounted for – possibly drowned.
This current situation will go down in our history, as one of the most devastating natural disasters in living memory. This flood crisis isn’t happening in a far away third world country. It’s right here, in our Australia.
Please give a thought to the families of those who have lost loved ones; who are waiting to hear if relatives and friends are still alive, and to those who have lost everything they own. You may even wish to give more than a ‘thought’, and donate to one of the official Disaster Appeal Funds.
